Karaoke World Championships USA (KWCUSA) announced plans to start a separate competition for karaoke singers under 18. KWCUSA obtained permission last year to start an under 18 karaoke competition under the KWC and KWCUSA brand. The KWC world officials are currently in the exploration stages of extending the world competition to under 18.

Wendell Payne, President of KWCUSA, says, KWCUSA has always wanted to extend the competition to under 18 and had planned this year to extend it to the 13 to 17 year age group. However after many calls and emails asking for ages 7 to 17 we are going to extend it to that entire group. We have to get feedback from current venues and other possible venues but those contacted so far are excited about the possibilities. We have seen many amazing voices at all ages over the years and this will add to the already exciting national and world karaoke competition.

KWCUSA will begin accepting venues for under 17 competitions and singer registrations on Wednesday May 16th. This will be a national competition and include two age groups, 7 to 12 and 13 to 17. This year the under 17 group will be a separate competition however KWCUSA anticipates some combining of existing venues and timetables. KWCUSA will begin contacts with existing venues this week and those existing venues can add the under 17 group at no additional license fee this year only.

KWCUSA is looking for ideas on names for the division that include KWCUSA so go to the web site and toss KWCUSA some ideas.

The Circuit Presented by Kickball365 Gets Ready To Make Its Debut in Harrisburg

The Circuit, the only national, professional tour of top-flight, competitive kickball tournaments, keeps on rolling through its 2012 season with its sixth stop of the year on June 9th in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Kickball Classic will mark the first time The Circuit has hosted a tournament in Harrisburg and has already attracted many of the top kickball teams in the country. These teams will go head-to-head with a chance to win cash prizes, and more overall Circuit Cup points as The Circuit approaches its halfway mark.

The number of teams at each event continues to go up this year and I think it underscores the growing popularity of competitive kickball, said Matthew Kemph, Founder/CEO of Kickball365. Harrisburg is no exception. For a first year tournament, the initial response has been outstanding. Weve got some great teams coming to do battle, and teams know that this is going to a be a key tournament to gain some ground in The Circuit standings. Jason and his event management team set up our first Circuit leagues in Harrisburg this year, and have set up another great event here. Harrisburg is a great kickball city and were getting fired up for this event.

This is the first Pennsylvania Kickball Classic (#PAKC) and already has 10+ teams committed to attending. The tournament is the sixth event of The Circuit 2012. Teams will go on to compete over the coming months to earn official Circuit Cup points at events across the country. Those points earned will be used to determine the seeding for the true ultimate championship at the conclusion of the year, the Circuit Cup Championship presented by Complete Discovery Source (http://www.cdslegal.com). It looks like well have quite a few new teams playing in this tournament too, and I love seeing new teams catch that competitive bug when they play in a Circuit event, continued Kemph. Theres also a great nightlife in Harrisburg and a lot of cool things to see around town. So I know Jason and his team have incorporated some of those things into a very full weekend for the teams attending. Its going to be a very fun event.

Any of these tips can work alone or in tandem with an inexpensive over-the-counter medication that contains meclizine which blocks a chemical messenger to the brain. It is also an antiemetic, helping to prevent or lessen the effects of all the uncomfortable sensations before or after they strike.

1. Eat light before going aboard. Avoid greasy and acidic foods that can come back to haunt you if you become seasick. Light, salty crackers, are good snacks. Once aboard, try to avoid food odors if you feel the effects of seasickness.

2. Avoid alcohol but drink plenty of water. Keep hydrated.

3. Get plenty of fresh air but avoid irritating gasoline and diesel fumes. If you do get dizzy when down below, get outdoors.

4. Try to stay in the middle of the boat, amidships, since there is less lurching. Often, the lower decks of a ship are calmer, with less horizontal and vertical motion, both contributors to the turbulence that precipitates seasickness.

5. If you have suffered a bout of seasickness, then do not read. Leave the book at home or in the cabin.

6. Stay away from folks who are sick since it could trigger a sympathetic response in you the same way someone coughing in a theatre can incite others to cough.
